Crowley Liner Services Adds Vessel Capacity in its U.S.

(JACKSONVILLE, Fla.; November 29, 2004) To meet the needs of its customers shipping to the Virgin Islands and Eastern Caribbean, Crowley Liner Services has acquired the use of a third container ship, the MV Zeran, to sail between Port Everglades, St. Croix and St. Thomas. This measure increases the capacity of the Virgin Islands service by 26 percent.

The vessel can carry up to 272 TEUs and will provide Crowleys Virgin Islands customers with direct calls between Port Everglades, Fla., St. Croix and St. Thomas. The ship, which was put into service on Nov. 24, has Lift on/Lift off and Roll on/Roll off capability and sails on a 10-day rotation.

As we enter the holiday season, it is vital for Crowley to possess the capacity to accommodate the needs of our Virgin Islands customers, said Joel Klenck, Vice President, Caribbean Services. We know that our customers rely on us to have their cargo arrive on the store shelves in a timely manner and this is a partnership that we take seriously.

The Zeran will be added to Crowleys current suite of vessels to the Virgin Islands and Eastern Caribbean, the Sea Cloud and Sea Gale. These 530 TEU vessels call St. Thomas and St. Croix every Sunday and Monday, respectively followed by calls to Trinidad, Barbados and St. Vincent. Additionally, Crowley services the islands of Anguilla, Montserrat, Nevis, Saba, St. Barts, St. Eustatius, St. John, St. Kitts, St. Maarten Tortola, Virgin Gorda, Bermuda, Canouan, Guadeloupe, Martinique and Tobago via relay service.
