UPDATE #2 – June 13

Tropical Storm Alberto is located about 65 miles south of Cedar Key Forida and is moving towards the northeast around 10 MPH. This general motion is expected to continue until landfall today near midday. Maximum sustained winds are near 65 MPH with higher gusts. The likelihood that Alberto will become a hurricane before landfall is decreasing.

Jacksonville, Florida is predicted to get 40 MPH winds from 11 am today through midnight with possible gusts of 50 MPH around 1 pm.

Sea Gale voyage 24s is at the dock awaiting operations before departure to the Virgin Islands and Eastern Caribbean, as is the Miami voyage 72s which will depart to Puerto Rico. No major delays are expected; however, minor delays are possible depending on how the weather effects cargo operations today.

UPDATE #1 – June 12

Tropical Storm Alberto is located about 155 miles south of Apalachicola, FL and is moving towards the northeast around 10 MPH. This general motion is expected to continue for the next 24 hours. Maximum sustained winds are near 70 MPH with higher gusts. It is forecasted that Tropical Storm Alberto could potentially become a Hurricane before making landfall.

Jacksonville, Florida is predicted to get 39 MPH winds as early as midnight tonight through 1800 tomorrow, and maximum winds of 58 MPH expected around 1100 tomorrow.
