Crowley Monitoring Hurricane Debby – Update 1
To our Crowley Partners,
We are actively monitoring the path and intensity of Hurricane Debby, which made landfall Monday morning, August 5, along Florida’s Gulf Coast. As the storm continues its path over land and back into the Atlantic, we remain diligent, taking all appropriate steps to ensure the safety of personnel, including our marines, our vessels, and your cargo.
There are some closings and delays due to the storm’s current trajectory near the navigational path of our vessels.
Updates regarding affected locations and operations are below:
Affected Ports and Terminals:
- JAXPORT (JPA) / TMT- The USCG moved the port to condition Yankee at 12:15 PM. This means the port is preparing to close to all inbound marine traffic. Cranes have suspended operations due to high winds. The closure will remain pending USCG inspection and clearance following passage of the storm. While vessel traffic will be restricted, we anticipate holding normal gate hours to accommodate inbound/outbound container traffic. The port is expected to move to condition Zulu at 12 AM tonight, which means all marine traffic will be closed.
- Jacksonville Office – Closed on Monday, August 5. Opening of offices on Tuesday, August 6, will be determined pending storm passage and impacts *Most employees are working remotely, available as normal*
Vessels:
- AS FLORETTA, SZV4031S -While the vessel is still scheduled for a Tuesday arrival on MOIN, it will now arrive at 2030 hours to safely transit behind the storm.
- WARNOW BELUGA, SZV4030N & SZV4032S – Will bypass the JAX port call to remain safely out of the storm’s path while maintaining schedule integrity. (Northbound cargo will discharge in Port Everglades, Fla. then move to final destination. Southbound cargo will sail on M/V AS FLORETTA, voyage SZV4033S on Wednesday, August 14. To re-route southbound cargo over Port Everglades on voyage SZV4032S, please contact your Crowley representative for information and rates).
- TAINO, SAL4060N & SAL4062S – Arrived in JAX this morning. Potential delays expected departing on Tuesday, August 6, pending USCG reopening of the port.
- El CONQUISTADOR, SAL4915N & SAL4916S – Delayed arriving JAX as it awaits safe clearance of the storm, ETA to be determined.
Thank you for your attention to this evolving situation. We will continue to communicate schedule/closure information as it is received.
