Crowley Logistics Announces Opening of Apparel Transportation Office in Los Angeles Area

(LOS ANGELES; April 13, 2004) To better serve apparel shippers importing goods by ocean and air from Central America and Asia, Crowley Logistics Apparel Transportation subsidiary is opening an office in the Los Angeles area to provide import brokerage service. Licensed U.S. Customs Broker, Julie Vaccarella, has been hired by Apparel Transportation to staff the office, which is located at 11222 South La Cienega Blvd., Suite 355 in Inglewood, Calif., with phone number, 310-348-3700.
The office will offer import brokerage services to the U.S. west coast for both air and ocean shipments. This service will be an extension of the existing brokerage work the company does from its Apparel Transportation office in south Florida.
Apparel Transportation provides air, ocean and inland transportation services to apparel and textile customers throughout the United States and Central America. Services offered include freight consolidation, air and ocean container loading, warehousing and distribution, pick and pack, freight forwarding and customs brokerage and clearance. Apparel Transportation also provides airfreight services for customers using a fleet of more than 200 specialized garment-on-hanger (GOH) aircraft containers.
We expect the initial customer base to be existing Apparel Transportation customers who have used us in Central America and south Florida, said Leo del Calvo, General Manager, Apparel Transportation. Now our customers will be able to utilize us for their imports from both Central America and Asia to the west coast of the U.S.
Eventually, the company will expand its services from this office to include warehousing, consolidation, and other value added distribution center services along with domestic transportation, said John Hourihan, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Logistics.
