Hurricane Dorian – Update 5

UPDATE 5 – 08/28/2019 – 1600hrs

Safety is Crowley’s No.1 core value. As such, we are taking all appropriate steps to ensure safety of personnel, including our mariners, vessels and your cargo as we actively watch Hurricane Dorian in the Caribbean. The following details current operations for those areas being affected.

Our offices in Puerto Rico, St. Thomas and St. Croix, including the ports, terminals and warehouses, are closed today, Wednesday (August 28).

To ensure a safe transit in advance of the storm, El Coquí (SAL9069S) will depart Jacksonville, Fla. for San Juan, Puerto Rico early, at 1800, on Friday. In order to ensure a timely departure, the cutoff for dry cargo and for all documentation is 1200 on Friday. The cutoff for refrigerated cargo is 1400 on Friday.

The storm is currently located over the island of St. Thomas with maximum winds near 75 mph. This motion is expected to continue for the next few days, taking Dorian across the eastern portion of Puerto Rico later today and to the east of the Bahamas on Thursday and Friday before heading towards the east coast of Florida.

As the storm track continues to develop, we will provide appropriate updates on its impact, if any, on your supply chain. We will continue to coordinate with our vessels to keep them clear of the storm, and with our shoreside personnel to make appropriate preparations at our facilities in order to protect people, equipment and cargo.
