Hurricane Dorian – Update 7

UPDATE 7 – 08/29/2019 – 1500hrs
Safety remains our primary focus as we continue to monitor Hurricane Dorian and take appropriate steps to ensure all personnel, vessels, and your cargo, remain out of harm’s way.

All Crowley locations are conducting normal operations. To ensure a safe transit in advance of the storm, El Coquí (SAL9069S) will depart Jacksonville, Fla., for San Juan, Puerto Rico early, at 1800, on Friday. In order to ensure a timely departure, the cutoff for dry cargo and for all documentation is 1200 on Friday. The cutoff for refrigerated cargo is 1400 on Friday.

The Florida East Coast Railway (FEC) has notified the trade that while there are no current plans for terminal or gate closures, rail service will be suspended after Friday night’s (Aug. 30) last southbound and northbound departures until further notice. Additionally, Saturday (Aug 31) will be the last incoming rail service via FEC to Port Everglades and Jacksonville, until further notice.

As the storm track continues to move towards the eastern coast of Florida, we will provide appropriate updates on its impact, if any, on your supply chain. We will continue to coordinate with our vessels to keep them clear of the storm, and with our shoreside personnel to make appropriate preparations at our facilities in order to protect people, equipment and cargo.
