8/28/06 1100 EDT
Tropical Storm Ernesto continues on a path that will impact South Florida on Wednesday, August 30th. A hurricane watch has been declared for mainland Florida. There is still uncertainty as far as intensity, timing, and current track of the storm as it approaches South Florida. A hurricane watch means that hurricane conditions are possible within 36 hours. We anticipate the U.S. Coast Guard and Port Authorities will close the port to all operations 24 hours before the expected impact.
We wish to hereby notify that Crowley has set a tentative gate closing at Port Everglades for pick up and receiving of containers at 1300 EDT Tuesday, August 29th.
We will issue updates to this plan as well as posting them on our website, as conditions necessitate, depending on course taken by Tropical Storm Ernesto over the next 24 hours.
If you have further questions, please call 1-800-CROWLEY.
