Tropical Storm Noel Update – 11/1/07

At 11 a.m., Thursday, November 1, 2007, Tropical Storm Noel is located about 175 miles east-southeast of Miami, FL moving north-northeast at 9 MPH. Maximum sustained winds are 60 MPH.
The center of Noel will be moving through the northwestern Bahamas today while slowly increasing its distance from the Florida coast.
As a precaution, Crowley’s Bahamas office and the port will be closed today, November 1st and will reopen when weather permits.
The Bahamas vessel scheduled to depart Friday evening, out of Jacksonville, FL, has been delayed. The Wesertor is estimated to depart Saturday evening, November 3rd.
We will continue to monitor the storm and evaluate the possible effects it could have on our operations. Crowley will continue to update you as more information becomes available, and as the track of the storm becomes clearer.

At 3:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 30, 2007, Tropical Storm Noel is located near 21.2N/77.9W, or about 350 miles SSE of Miami, FL moving northwest at about 8 MPH. Maximum sustained winds are 40 MPH.
The center of the storm has begun the long-expected northwest and northerly turn. Models continue to predict a path very near or over Andros Island Wednesday night followed by a turn to the north-northeast. On this track, Noel will pass 125-175 miles east of Miami tomorrow afternoon.
As a precaution, Crowley’s Bahamas office and the port will be closed tomorrow, October 31st and will reopen when weather permits.
Crowley’s midweek sailing to the Bahamas has been cancelled and the cargo scheduled for that vessel will be moved to sail on Fridays vessel.
Our Puerto Rico services will also be delayed. Our revised estimated arrivals into San Juan out of Jacksonville, FL are as follows: Ponce V127S 10/31/07, El Conquistador V128S 11/1/07 and the Miami V129S 11/5/07. Out of Pennsauken, NJ, the Fortaleza V43S is estimated to discharge in San Juan on 11/2/07. Estimated departures for this weeks voyages are as follows: Jacksonville V130S on 10/31/07, San Juan V131S on 11/2/07 and La Princesa V132S on 11/5/07.

At 10:00 am, Monday, October 29, 2007, Tropical Storm Noel is located near 21N/73W, or about 60 miles north of Haiti moving to the northwest at 8-10 mph. Maximum sustained winds are 40 MPH.
Latest information indicates that Noel should slow its forward speed as it tracks northwestward across the eastern Bahamas over the next 48 hours. It is expected to turn to the northeast by Wednesday due to an approaching frontal system. There is some chance Noel could strengthen to a hurricane over the eastern Bahamas before moving out into the open Atlantic.
Delays to Crowley’s Bahamas service are very possible as well as for the vessels in the Puerto Rico service.
